Victoria

As far back as I remember, I have been a bibliophile!

I grew up in the hills of North Wales, where one of my consistent pastimes was reading. We had plenty of outdoor fun in my small Welsh rural town; but to truly relax and escape my world, I would always come back to books.

Our local library allowed us to borrow 12 books at a time, and by about age 10 I had well exhausted their supply, often re-reading my favourites. Fortunately, there was another larger library at the top of the town where I could gain access to more books as I read through the town's supplies!

So perhaps it is only natural that I became an English teacher : I love words, languages, etymology, puns and poetry and I enjoy discussing the variety of writing with many different students, hearing their perspectives and fresh ideas, from different angles and viewpoints, very enriching to my already established love of English literature!

I currently also home educate my two sons, which leaves even more room for book exploration and time to cultivate and indulge our reading habits.

Hot chocolate, a book, a cosy pair of socks, a warm fire and maybe a cat. Perfect!
