The book we’re reading
On the eve of a royal wedding in Athens, four young lovers tangle themselves in knots: Hermia and Lysander flee into the forest to escape her father's demand that she marry Demetrius, pursued by Demetrius and by Helena, who loves him hopelessly. In the same enchanted wood, the fairy king Oberon and queen Titania are locked in a quarrel, and the mischievous sprite Puck sets loose a love potion that sends every affection spinning to the wrong person — while a troupe of bumbling amateur actors, one of them turned donkey-headed, rehearses a play nearby. A single moonlit night of confusion, magic and mistaken love unravels before order, and four happy couples, are restored by morning.
