A revision-packed session mixing active recall techniques with poetry and drama review. Students start with a "blurting" exercise on Carol Ann Duffy's "War Photographer" — writing down everything they can remember, then checking the gaps — to test their grip on the poem's themes of suffering, detachment and the way distant readers quickly forget what they're shown. The class then returns to An Inspector Calls, reviewing its themes and making cue cards to lock in key quotations, supported by a podcast on the play's plot and ideas and a round of exam tips and revision advice. The poetry focus is Vernon Scannell's "Hide and Seek," about a boy who hides so well he's left alone and forgotten, and Shakespeare's "Sonnet 116," a declaration of steadfast, unchanging true love.
