What is Jolly Writing Skills and Reading Comprehension 1 ?
Jolly Reading Comprehension & Writing Skills is a simple, step-by-step programme for children aged about 6-8. Each week has two short lessons: one to practise understanding what they read, and one to build clear, confident writing. Children work in a colourful Pupil Book with engaging texts (stories, poems, plays, and real-world nonfiction) and use a Workbook for easy, guided writing practice.
Children steadily grow their vocabulary, learn to spot key details and make inferences, and move from great sentences to well-structured pieces — while enjoying reading and writing.
How do I know what level my child is at?
To take part in Jolly Writing Skills & Reading Comprehension 1, your child should have achieved certain markers: writing up to a full sentence or two and can read full sentences quite fluently.
